解説/Greetings
　(公財)日本美術刀剣保存協会の審査事業は、日本刀の調査・保存を目的に昭和二十三年より行われています。
　現在では真偽鑑定等を主目的とする基本の保存審査を第一義とし、より美術性の高い格付けを重視した審査として特別保存、さらには重要・特別重要といった段階を設け審査を行っております。その中において重要審査は作品の正真はもちろん、資料性や健全性も兼備した完成度の高い美術工芸品として国認定の重要美術品に準ずる優作であることの指定であり、毎年欠かすことなく審査は継続され今日に至っております。
　日本刀の高い品格と真摯なるくろがねの美を、そして刀装・刀装具に表れた工芸美の粋を心ゆくまでご鑑賞ください。

 The Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords (NBTHK) has been researching and appraising swords since 1948.
 Currently, the NBTHK regularly holds appraisal examinations with the objective of authenticating swords owned by members of the public. The examinations are conducted in 4 stages : Hozon, Tokubetsu Hozon, Juyo and Tokubetsu-juyo. The Juyo designation is awarded to blades that are important historical data in healthy conditions, worthy of preservation, deemed to be genuine examples, as well as important art objects.
